Steel foundries (similarly to cast iron foundries) need shot blasting of melted (sand or soil) objects. Casting residues are eliminated to obtain products ready for further processing.
The handling of work pieces through the shot blasting machine can take place by means of a motorised air conveyor with step-by-step feed (pneumatic doors) or continuous feed (rubber sealing curtains), a continuous belt conveyor equipped with rubber sealing curtains or feeding belts with intermittent loads. Processing with intermittent loads on a metal or rubber feeding belt facilitates the mixing of work pieces during shot blasting.
